feeding different foods

I had my 3 hens since late dec. and they been laying ever since.....great birds very dosel and friendly I believe there red star or comet .....i'l put up some pic when we get out of this deep freeze . been feeding them layer pellets, bread,lettuce , dried meal worms,bird seed and other scraps....I have some homemade meatballs and some turkey (or chicken) breast, can I feed it to them or meat in general. a little cold in the north east now so i'm gonna warm it up for the ladies....lol

Meat, or any animal protein, is a great addition to a bird's diet. Most feeds have none, and they are certainly omnivores. And, in most setups, they get very little protein from bugs. Be careful it is in tiny pieces; the meatballs are ideal!

There is very little nutritional value in bread. Iknow, they love it, but I would limit the quantity.
 
wow.... came out 15 mins later and they eat everything.....little piggies
