I have two 4 week old ducklings. I'm having a difficult time with their feed.
I try to keep them penned up with their mother so they can eat their baby food. Mom eats it. Everyone is free range. So i hate to keep the 3 of them penned all day... they want to swim and wander with the others. but the chickens seem to want to eat their food. I have a dish for mom of her adult food and a dish for the baby food .. but sometimes they eat her adult food. Is any of this a concern? When can i feed them adult food? My hens have been laying weird eggs lately... could it be from eating the babys food? Its unmedicated chick feed.

All can eat the chick feed, I have all my birds together and so when I have ducklings or chicks or goslings everyone eats baby food then once my babies aren’t babies any longer they get a mix of layer and chick so my boys aren’t getting too much calcium plus I keep out oyster shell in a separate bowl for those that lay. If you don’t have oyster shell get some for your layers.

Thank you!!
