I have an order of 18 ducklings and 27 chicks coming on Tuesday. I am planning on brooding them all together. I have purchased a bag of dumor chick starter/grower that says it is appropriate for chicks and ducklings up to 10 weeks. Is this sufficient for the ducklings or does this feed still need to be supplemented with niacin?

im not sure about the niacin but i wouldn't brood ducks and chicks together ducks make a big mess and in a few days will outgrow the chicks and they could cause injuries or even death to the chicks and not to mention they need to be brodded at different temps

X2..
I kept 4 ducklings with my 6 chicks that are a few days older than the ducklings for a week, but then the ducklings grew a lot faster than the chicks and so I separated them. It's actually best to just keep them separated from the get go. The ducklings would always get the chicks dirty and they are just a lot messier.
I couldn't tell you about the niacin, but I haven't fed mine any. I have been feeding them peas which have some niacin, I'm just not sure if it's an adequate amount. It's working for me and I am not having any issues with the ducklings, so I think mine will be alright.
