Hi all! We have 6 chickens and 2 ducks, all about 7.5 weeks old. My hard working husband is trying to finish their coop and duck house but isnt quite done. They go outside during the warmest part of the day, then back to the garage for the chilly nights. My question is feeding them once they move outside. The chicken feed is medicated, so I'm worried about keeping the ducks out of it since we had a duckling almost die before we knew they needed unmedicated, niacin rich food. The ducks eat a water fowl pellet with niacin in it. So far we've just put the ducks food out in the run during the day, which the chicks eat some of before running from the ducks. I guess my question is, how do I keep them in their own food only once they move out full time, until I switch to layer crumbles around 20 weeks? I still have 3 months of feeding these hungry fowl friends where I need to keep them eating separate food. Anyone have tips?
