Feeding ducks

Our ducks (4blue sweedish 2females 2males. 1 Rouen male) are currently beig fed layer pellets and barely. I feel as if this is not the best we can offer. The forage for 90% of their food and are given lots of veggie scraps.
What is best to feed them?

I would get the best pellets I could afford, and have that available 24/7. I would sometimes (especially in winter) a few tablespoons of dry cat kibble. I would, once a week or so, add a teaspoon or two of flaxseed meal, and put poultry vitamins in their water once every two to four weeks.

Fresh water 24/7.

Have you seen anything that is giving you that feeling? Body condition? Energy levels?
