Feeding EGG shells

I use the tray-in-the-oven method. When the tray is full, I also bake them at 200 for about 10 minutes (enough time to make them a little brown and stinky.

) Then into the blender, and added to the oyster shell feeder.

I feed all eggs shells back to my girls, I even ask my friends to save their egg shells. I dry them out by the wood stove or bake them in the oven and then crush them up. I sprinkle them on the pellets or add it to their hard boiled eggs, canned cat food, tuna, hard boiled eggs or whatever they are getting for a morning boost that day. I also make sure I add a vitamin D3 tab to their water to help them use the calcium.

My girls will eat the crushed egg shells before they will eat the oyster shells.

I also feed fresh goat milk as liquid milk, yogurt, soft cheese or added to their morning booster food.
