Feeding game bird feed to 7 week old chicks

Our feed store says that what they advise until we change over to layer feed.

Makes me wonder if they were out of grower. Game bird feeds are usually higher protein then what they need. Whats the percent protein and are they on grass or getting any other supplemental feed?

18 percent protein,she said it was fine for the chicks and the layers. The game feed has very little calcium and to supplement the big girls with oyster shell. They have a small run separated from the big girls with some grass and weeds. Lots of live bugs
