Feeding ground beef?

when i butcher, that little bit of liver on either side of the back is for my layers, they stay by my side and wait for me to toss, its a race to see who ends up with those scrapes

I think it's important to remember here that we are talking about creatures that will scratch around in cow pies to pick out their favorite bits.

I offer my chickens everything I have an excess of. If they eat it fine.

Thank you all -I was curious about raw vs. cooked hamburger. I buy for my chickens and was wondering if I had to cook it first .. I have been giving it raw and will now continue to do so . I always give my chickens crab apple Bach flower remedies to keep them healthy and free of parasites 🦠.. I have not had a issue with my birds getting sick from raw hamburger… thank you for clarity today on this subject.. the only thing I will change is the amount I give .. I probably am making my birds butts big .. 😂..
have a great day everyone—and remember ..
chickens are happy when we snuggle em up 😘🥰.

I have often wondered why people feed mealworms when actual meat is cheaper.

Maybe they’re afraid that by eating raw beef, their chickens will get bloodthirsty for beef and take down a cow? :gig

I do it because in my house there usually isn't any leftover meat haha. And if my husband catches me buying people food for the chickens that will be one more thing for him to complain about after "you said I wouldn't have to do anything!" :lau

Buy ground beef for the chickens and serve him mealworms for dinner. That’ll learn ‘em! ;) :D

I guess for a small flock, dried mealworms are handy…

I do like to try new recipes...

We only have five laying hens right now and another perk of dried meal worms is that kids aren't usually grossed out to feed them from their hand or grab a handful to scatter for them. We have a lot of young visitors that like to feed treats to our chickens and collect the eggs for us.
