Hello I just got my first egg from my flock of 12 chickens. Not sure who layed it but they are about that age to almost start .

I still have 3 large bags of grower feed which I don't want to waste . Can I still feed them kalmbach 20% grower or do I need to switch now ? I have 3 new 35lb bags. Do I need to give them free choice of calcium supplement?

Thank you very much

They can eat grower their whole lives, just make sure they have a free access source of oyster shell.
This is better if you keep a rooster, or have young pullets in the mix frequently. Then they can't get too much calcium, which can stress their organs.

Yep. They probably won't be interested in the oyster shell until they have laid for a bit, but you want to make sure they are eating it eventually, and if they aren't you can switch up types. I was getting thin shelled eggs still, and that's when I realized I had to switch to the flaked stuff.
