jello again! I was curious what is the best thing I can feed my chickens they are mostly going to be used for egg purposes! Also how high off the ground should I hang a feeder ,and the water!

Well if you reference the back of a name brand chicken feed they typically will have a chart or something of that nature. Take the type of chicken you have and use the chart to figure out the recommended feed for your birds.

If they are a laying type and over the age of 18 weeks then it's likely to recommend a Layer feed. I am using Nutrena Hearty Hen at the moment. Has a good fresh smell, soy free, and 18% protein which is just a bit higher than average.

I used to use Purina's Omega 3 Layer which was pretty good too.

For day old Chicks, I place the waterer and feed on wood blocks. 20180902_080729.jpg .
When older I hang them 20180909_141448.jpg . I adjust higher as they grow.
When in coop I hang so trough is level with back of smallest chicken. 20190311_050924.jpg .

As for feed I like a feed with 18 to 20% Protein. Either Nutrena Naturewise or Purina.
I feed a Medicated Start and Grow for 10 weeks to day old chicks, then switch to a Non-Medicated Starter Grower or a All-Flock/Flock Raiser crumble, and continue to feed either one after they start laying, with Oyster Shells separately.
I am currently feeding a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower feed to my Pullets and Hens. The 10 of them gave me 9 eggs yesterday. 20190324_112514.jpg . GC
