I've seen all over about feeding oatmeal.
Just wondering if it has to be cooked or can I give it to
them uncooked?

Mine LOVE raw oatmeal. I forgot to pick some up at the store, thanks for the reminder!

I feed mine oatmeal both ways. Although they seem to like it raw most of the time. And if feed the kids and dogs oatmeal (mixed with there food) you better know the chickens will have to have some too.

I am not sure who it is but someone explains the flaw in a chicken feed only diet - I use cooked instant oatmeal with fruit and they are laying great- plus it is a treat - most of this type of thing is whatever works for your birds

there is an anti-nutritional factor associated with several grains incl. oatmeal ...the feed producers add enzymes and in the case of oatmeal (human grade) cooking will take care of this problem.

Mine get cooked oatmeal every morning with peaches, apples, and bananas.(sometimes cantoloupe and grapes)

You all know that with the way we feed our pets (not only chickens) that most of the time they eat better than we do . If when I am gone and dead, and if we return as something else I hope to be a pet chicken to people like us.
