I have parrots - they eat a good food (pellets) and at the end of the week there is always pieces, crumbs, powder, etc. in the bottom of their dish. Can I throw that into my chicken's feed bucket and mix with their feed? (Parrots won't touch it because they're super picky!)

Here is the feed I give my parrots:
ZuPreem Natural Pellets
  • 21 vitamins and minerals in every bite
  • Contains fresh ground vegetables and fruit
  • No colorants added
  • Naturally Preserved
  • Multi-grain formula that includes ground millet, oat groats, wheat and barley

How about protein? which kinds of vitamins? I don't see anything wrong with it but I wouldn't use it as their primary feed.

It would be just an addition or something I'd throw around the front door, etc.. not as a main feed. I just want to make sure it wouldn't hurt them to eat it..

I'm pretty sure it'd be fine as a treat or scattered thing. It may not be beneficial to them but I doubt it's bad for them.

Thanks :) I also thought I could use it to fill a bird feeder too.. I'm sure wild birds would pick at it, especially in the winter if food is scarce.

I have an African Grey and feed him the same Zupreem pellets. My hens always find the place where I shake out his cage tray and eat all of the fruity bits out of the grass. They seem to like it, and its a heck of a lot better quality than chicken feed =)
