We have 15 meaties right now. DH will finish our tractor, tomorrow, and they'll be ready to go out to pasture. How much grain do I feed them? Should it be available all day or just in the a.m.? What's the best method for feeding them? Trays, trough, etc?

I use a 6' rain gutter that has been "upgraded"

to have a spinning top to prevent the chicks from roosting & pooping, or walking in the feeder and pooping.

I feed from 7a-7p, and whatever they want to scratch for.

We now leave feed out 24/7 in trough feeders. It is generally gone completely in the morning when we go fill it back up. They seem to self-regulate fairly easily since they go to sleep when it is dark and don't start eating again until the sun comes up. We found that when we restricted their food, they were injuring each other in their frantic race to get the food when it was put back in the morning.
