I am new to raising chickens and have been given 5 hens and 1 rooster that are now six weeks old. Do I give them the grower feed free choose, by that I mean leave it out for them all the time, or do I just put it out certain times of the day. It seems they eat all the time. I want to do what is best for them, I just don't know what is best for them. Thanks for your input.

Food out 24/7!!!
They are growing constantly and as you observed, eating constantly! They NEED it!

Most people also feed their adult birds 24/7 as well

It's a tremendous comfort to know your birds have water and feed at all times, and it occasionally gives you sleep-in time!
You can make a hopper-feeder too

Here's one way ( stolen from Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain)

Congratulations on having new chickens, they need food down all the time, but I've been known to take it away at night so I can clean the feeder.
