My White Rocks are due late tonight/tomorrow. One has already pipped! I want to keep some of them and use the others for meat. Then when they are of laying age, I can hatch out some chicks and use those for meat. I need to know what to feed them if I want them for meat. What the plan is, I will keep a Roo and all of the Hens from this and cull all of the other roos. I plan on keeping records on weights, etc. Then whey they start breeding/laying, I will keep the larger of the chicks for the parent stock..etc..etc..etc.. Can I feed them all the same food, even though some I would keep and some I will cull (to eat) Thanks!

Just feed them like normal dual purpose chicks. Chick starter then grower then layer. There is no reason to segregate them. That would be hard anyway, since you will not know which ones you want to cull for 4-5 months.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if it would make much of a difference. Ive read of people giving extra protein to make them get bigger, right. Once I get a good parent stock, and plan on using all of the future chicks for meat, what would be good to give them then?....since I know they will all be culled? Thanks again!

You can start use a Turkey starter like --
GUARANTEED ANALYSIS:
Crude Protein (Min.) 28.00%
Lysine (Min.) 1.60%
Methionine (Min.) 0.60%
Crude Fat (Min.) 3.00%
Crude Fiber (Max.) 4.00%
Calcium (Ca) (Min.) 1.2%
Calcium (Ca) (Max.) 1.7%
Phosphorus (P) (Min.) 0.85%
Salt (NaCl) (Min.) 0.10%
Salt (NaCl) (Max.) 0.60%

Or a good Starter/Grower like --
GUARANTEED ANALYSIS:
Crude Protein (Min.) 21%
Lysine (Min.) 1.20%
Methionine (Min.) 0.5%
Crude Fat (Min.) 3.0%
Crude Fiber (Max.) 4.0%
Calcium (Ca) (Min.) 0.7%
Calcium (Ca) (Max.) 1.2%
Phosphorus (P) (Min.) 0.7%
Salt (NaCl) (Min.) 0.2%
Salt (NaCl) (Max.) 0.7%
