Should I keep laying mash in front of my chickens all the time or should I feed them once or twice a day? I give them scraps, like zuchini, cucumbers, lettuce and such during the day also.

Keep food out for them all the time. They don't eat on a schedule. Only thing on a schedule for them I know of is when then head into the coop for the night.

Yes, make sure it's available to them all the time. They won't overeat. It's also good to supplement their diet with veggie scraps, like you're doing.

Thanks! Is laying mash the only feed I should give them besides the scraps? I only have 3 laying hens right now, the rest of them were hatched early this spring. I fed them chick starter until about a month ago when I put them in the coop with the big girls. Should I be feeding something else now, too?

You should be feeding the babies the starter until they are ready to lay. After that they can all eat the same thing.

And give them lot's of treats. 8-P
