Feeding Wheat to Laying Hens

Food and feed high in carotenes will help give you darker yolks.

I have been feeding my flock whole wheat for about four months. Some birds have list weight, mostly the reds. The barred rocks still seem fine. Egg production is normal. I will be mixing in cracked corn now since some seem thin. They leave a lot of the wheat on the ground and do not eat it. They prefer the corn. My flock is free range so they have lots of greens and bugs.
