Hi I hatched 4 chicks sadly all are roosters or at least they are all trying to make the sound of roosters. I’m able to keep one but I would like feed them the right food to be able to butcher if possible. They are barn yard mix chickens. All from olive colored eggs

Just keep them on chick feed, or an all flock feed for building, & maintaining muscle, then near the end, dilute the protein with corn, or other scratch grains to add some fat to the cockerels.

When I raise a rooster myself for meat, I butcher anywhere from 16-24 weeks.

What I feed my roosters is a mix of non medicated chick feed, a small bit of scratch, and cooked beans all mixed together into a feed container. The beans offer extra protein. It is not required, but I want to use it to help them grow.

Here is an example of one of my meat roosters who is growing on the feed. He is nice and plump.
