Hello Fellow BYC fans,
I just got started with 4 hens in a coop I designed and built myself. One of my goals was to use as many re-purposed materials as possible in building my coop and this was the kick I needed to just be real about my love of recycling, re-purposing, finding ways to use "stuff" creatively, but to accomplish real tasks. I know from reading these threads that many of you feel the same way. There is something very satisfying, even spiritual, about this way of living. I've been talking about doing this for 2 years, and my family is just shaking their heads going huh??? I turned 50 this year, and I know this sounds crazy, but I kind of thought of myself as a kid in an adult body, but now I think of myself as an adult who still feels like a kid! 50 is the age when you realize you have more life experience than 50% of the people you have to deal with! Ha! So, thank you to everyone for sharing your ideas and looking forward to a healthful year in body, mind and spirit!
