So, I have a feisty cockerel just beginning to come into himself (4-5 months)
We have a small flock, 2 pullets and a turkey.

They have been in lockdown due to new egg laying (want to rain the ladies where to lay) and some construction going on.

When I am able to let them out, Mister Roo Roo is feisty. I can’t tell if he is just bored (cooped up) or is actually MEAN.

I have 2 small children, so I need to take littles safety in mind.

Roo in question has come after me and my son. Immediate culling? Or as he is young (4-5months) should I give him a little time (and maybe some more hens) to mellow out?

Immediate culling since little ones are in the home.
Zero reasons good enough to keep him and chance an injury.

Cockerel and dumplings are back on the menu!

Doesn't really matter if you're going to eat him....
but if he's going after you he's 'mean'... if he's going after the pullets, he's just horny .
