Thank you! I've been playing with these girls since they were born and slowly feeding off any that bit to our ball python. These are the ones that have never bitten and get spoiled with treats.

I've had three litters so far out of two mother rats, the first was 12 pups, the second 9, and the third was 15. The last one only had four males in the whole litter! ASF's don't become mature until around 4 months old, but they can live for 8-10 years. The females also share the responsibility of the pups and will feed all of them.

How big do they get? I adore rats and am trying to talk DH into another one or two. Our's passed away two years ago and I miss having a rattie around.

They get a little larger than a gerbil, but nowhere near as big as a typical Norway rat.
