I have had my 5 female ducks for almost 1 year. One of our ducks (black swedish) is chasing our buff duck anytime she gets close. This is a new behavior. The black swedish lowers her bead and runs after her. I havent notice any damage yet. What should I do?

I have both females and drake ducks, and the only time one of my girls has taken after another is when Quinn seemed to believe the other hens were getting too much attention from the drakes. There was chasing and nipping, but no injuries.

I have no idea what your girl is thinking; so no good advice here. Hope someone has an answer.

My girls do this with each other. Its very interesfing because i have 5 females. And they only chase certain ones. My female cayuga Kevin only chases my rouen, SweetPea. SweetPea only chases my swedish Darla, and theres one other dynamic i dont remember, but i think its Darla chasing my other rouen Buttercup But its very specific. Im not sure exactly why this is but im guessing its either a hierarchy thing or its simply that they are being catty and just dont like certain ladies in the group. They have never hurt each other.

I tend to see it most when they are free ranging and they are in certain areas for example theres a specific tree that Kevin gets excited about and will chase SweetPea the most around there. And Sweet Pea goes after Darla the most when they are near this bush that she particularly likes. So maybe it has to do with "nesting" sites? None of my girls are broody but still.
