I’ve got two female geese that recently starting laying eggs. They began ‘necking’ each other in the snow today and then one female got on top and stood on the other for a couple minutes! Looks like mating to me! Assuming they really are both female, does this happen sometimes?? Could it be a dominance thing? Is she using the other for heat? Or are they just practicing??? OR….. do I have a male imposter?
Curious and couldn’t find much online!
Thanks

I have an older hen who likes one of the newer girls, and has been fake courting her. She will get on top and mount but do nothing lol. (Sebastopols for reference).
