Hi There,
I have a female Muscovy and her boyfriend is a male Mallard X Saxony. They are both 3 years and 7 months old.
My question relates around the female. She is currently getting her new primary feathers. She is being very standoffish. She won't let me near her. She's still eating, drinking and foraging. She just up and runs when I go outside and see them. It's also the middle of Winter in Melbourne, Australia. Getting damn cold.
They have a very elaborate Pen they go to at night, with a built-in pool. I lock the door behind them after dinner.
I'm worried there is something wrong, but I can't see any signs. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

When they molt and during the time they are growing in their new feathers most of mine are standoffish too they don’t like to be touched. They feel like prickly pears. If she’s eating and drinking and active I wouldn’t worry.
