I've got a female pekin duck that is about old enough to start laying eggs but doesnt seem to be eating as much as she used to.
When she was a baby and growing up, I'd put food down and she'd eat it so fast I'd be scared she would choke, but now when I put food out she doesn't seem as interested.
I have changed her feed from the grower feed to a 15% layer feed. I'm thinking maybe she doesnt like the grown up food? Is it healthy to switch back to the chick feed? I dont want her to go hungry.
Or do ducks just stop acting ravenous as they get older? Is it normal for her to not eat as much as she reaches adulthood??
