Female Runner ducks mating together?!

I have two female runner ducks (no males). Every now and again, I catch them in their pond mating. One duck climbs on the others back and stamps its feet whilst biting at the back of the others neck. The other duck doesn't seem to mind particularly.

But, they're both female! I know they're both female, because they both lay an egg every day.

Is this normal behaviour? Is it just a phase, or will they always do it?

Also, another question - they love treats. Their regular food is layers pellets, but every day I give them peas and chopped lettuce which they love. They also sometimes get tomatoes, noodles, pond weed, mashed potato and raspberries. Are there any suggestions for runner duck treats?

Your ducks eat BETTER than I,,,,,,,, Just keep giving them what you are giving.
I had a hen (only one BTW) do the same to my other chickens. I only keep hens and as pets only. I assumed that she was stuck between GOOD and EVIL.
No harm done.

Your girls are normal. Just doing the ducky dance. Some say it is a show of dominance. I've not seen that here - everybody takes turns with everybody else.

I've heard a lot of peeps on here say that their female ducks will do this. I think it's totally normal for them to do that. I used to have two girl bunnies that "mated" all the time
It was pretty funny.

My Hens breed each other..It's normal. Ducks are sexual.
Then my Drake gets all excited and sometimes it's a Duck sandwich in the pool..lol
