Female to male? (Mallard)

My "female" mallard grew up and had female feathers and pattern but as of a week ago she, he, it has grown a drake feather and deep whistle sound and is growing a green head and body is changing from the brown to gray and im confused can any1 help?

Did it ever quack? Male mallards don't go straight in to their "male plumage" when they grow their feathers. They will look just like the females in their "juvenile plumage". At around 15-20 weeks they get their "nuptial plumage" which is where they get their drake feathers and green head.

Everything is normal. Mallards have an eclipse and a nuptial plumage. Both drakes and hens are brown when immature and during the summer molt. Drakes then molt into the 'pretty' courtship plumage. He's been male all along - just hiding it.
