I am thinking of getting some chickens for my yard. I have a 4ft wrought iron fence across the front of my property. Can chickens jump or fly high enough to get over?? Or is there some way to keep them from flying, clipping wings, etc??

Chickens can fly. Without a proper hen house or enclosure for night they will roost in the trees and will eventually be come wild "yard birds". You can clip one side of the flight wings but then if they are free ranging they can't get away from predators.

I suggest a nice hen house and run with some free range privileges but locked up nice and tight and snug at night.
