Fencing the pen / run

I am female and am having a terrible time building my pen, not to mention I am on a severely restricted budget due to my husbands child support obligations. I wanted to be able to have a thriving flock by now but alas I have a great dane breeder as a next door neighbor. I have 300 ft of poultry netting, an abundance of bed rails (lol) for makeshift posts. (Hubbys best friend owns a trailer park and they get left behind a lot) and the framing done for the coop but no outside covering or roof. I also have about 300 ft of chain link at my disposal. Any ideas on how to secure the netting to the bed railsand keep it tight? Someone mentioned zip ties but I think it would just slide down the rails. Should I go for wooden posts instead, I have a woodlot bbut alas I'm a girl and cannot operate a power saw. Help!

Well hello there tnchicfarmer! I'm a woman with a hubby that doesn't share my passion for chickens so I do everything but the heavy lifting myself. I'm not comfortable with power tools so I spent less than ten bucks on a handsaw, hammer etc. It may be slower but the sense of accomplishment is awesome. As for the netting and bedrails deal (I use all scrap or free stuff too!) Make notches at a slant for the netting to rest in. It won't slide down the rails. If u have the chain link use it instead for the fencing in part as you'll need to keep predators out. Use the netting for the top to keep out hawks, cats etc. A small heavy duty staple gun (kind of cheap and u may already have one for hanging household stuff) can be used for the fencing and netting too. That should get u going til u find something to roof the run. Don't forget to put a bedrail across the top every so often so that when u do get roofing material you'll have something to nail it down to. Hope this helps some. Oh, and since trailer park scrap is at your disposal- watch for someone doing/redoing underpinning. Great for run or coop roof and enclosing sides of coop part.
