Fermented Feed in the Winter

Hi yall! This is our first winter with our girls and I was wondering how to go about feeding them their food, which is fermented, in the colder months. I realize this isn't a concern for those that can feed their flock at sunrise or after each day, but I leave for work at 3 a.m. every day. This leaves their food sitting out for several hours before they can get to it when their coop door opens at sunrise. I've seen heated bowls for outdoor use for water and such, and I was worried about the risk of overheating once the bowl is inevitably empty. Has anyone had any experience with aforementioned bowls? Or should I just switch the girls to dry feed for the colder months? Thanks!!

Assuming you have electricity available, then this should work:

Search Amazon for "heated bowl thermostat". The thermostat will keep the bowl from overheating and just keep it above freezing.

I don't use such a bowl, but I do use a thermostat-controlled water heater for about 5 years now and it works very well.
