Hello fellow cluckers! It’s me again! It’s been awhile but so much bad has happened to me lately plus I usually only post on here if my chicken is hurt. She’s same one that was damn near plucked to death about a month ago. Poor thing ain’t but 4 months old. Idk if any of you remember but I had to rehome my 2 ducks, 3 hens and then the culprit of reason why... my rooster ... still kills me to this day. Anywho, I was with Lucy for an hour last night ...til 1am. Got late start this morning and went to let her out and didn’t hear her . She ALWAYS talks to me!!! She waddles her way out to me & I thought she was choking , suffocating, dying hell I was clueless. Til I calmed down and took a better look. Something had gotten both sides of her neck. Baffled cuz coop gate closed but due to so much hay there’s about an inch of opening. Anyway I went to go inside & I thought as I opened back door that I saw something scurry past me but it was so fast I thought I was seeing things cuz my glasses were on (cheaters) but I looked around me to make sure & couldn’t see anything. So after I thought about her being attacked and what it could’ve been, IT CLICKED!! Frickin Axle I’m gonna kill you (THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN BUT BOY WAS I GONNA BE PISSED IF IT WAS HIM) so I go inside & can’t find him anywhere. Go back out to coop area and I’d left shed doors open few weeks back so I walked over to open shed which is attached to coop btw and yelled his name few times. Nothing. Again, I heard a little noise like it was coming from inside...sure enough out comes my little asshole I mean Axle ferret. I grabbed him and didn’t know whether to beat him (WOULD NEVER HAPPEN - I HONESTLY DO NOT BELIEVE IN SLAPPING SPANKING BEATING PUNISHING) or hug him cuz he was cute and still alive and wasn’t missing or dead. Needless to say it can’t be coincidental! There’s NO WAY! He had to have been at her side when he bit her. What’s amazing is that he didn’t kill her. It’s gotta be bc he’s inside with all 7 cats & 2 dogs and more but the more is behind closed doors in my daughters room. But I truly believe that since he’s around the others and there’s never foul play that that is why he let her be. Now she still has bite wound which is why I’m reaching out to my cluckers bc I can’t afford vet bill like last one with 3 over nights. I have cleaned wound up and have plenty of solution left. So I’ll keep that up. She can barely move head up down but seems to be ok side to side. Give me your knowledge cluckers PRETTY PLEASE! I’ve attached her.

I think the best you can do is keep the wound cleaneds and apply something like plain neosporin to the wound.
Make sure she's staying hydrated and getting food. I would add a poultry vitamin a couple of times a week.

Hard to know if she has lasting neurological damage or not, some birds are resilient and bounce back.

Watch for signs of infection. Having an antibiotic like Amoxicillin would be a good idea.
