Hey yall quick question:
I've had some ducks since last August and they started laying in March. I had 3 drakes: 8 hens until last week when one of my drakes didn't return from free ranging. A wild mallard hen joined my flock in February and she just set on some eggs. I have seen my black runner drake and my WH drake try to mate. I haven't seen it successful 100% yet but then again I don't watch them 24 hours a day. I ordered some fertile chicken eggs to put under my broody mallard so she has something to hatch. What are the chances that the clutch she is sitting on now are fertile? Its a collection of all my ducks eggs, about 12. Should I put these fertile chicken eggs her, or in the bator? I am curious to see if the eggs under her now are fertile. Thanks!
