Two of my hens have been broody. My cuckoo marans for 3 weeks and game fowl for about2 months. I didn't want to keep pushing them out of the coop so I decided to get 6 fertile eggs. I put 3 sexlink and 1 brahma under my cuckoo marans and 2 leghorns under my game fowl. They pushed them under themselves right away. I'm hoping to see them hatch in 3 weeks.

Setting can be debilitating on a hen so monitor to make sure that they remain mite free and in good flesh. An added 21 days may be more than their bodies can handle. I wish you luck for a successful hatch.

Thank you for the info. I've also read about that. I'll be monitoring them a few times a day. Especially now that I've been laid off, I just stay at home and can check on them all the time. I've added some natural eco/pet friendly insect killer into the coop because I've seen some mites a couple of weeks ago. I don't notice anymore mites. I will also be taking them out to free range before dusk so they have about half an hour to dust bathe, eat, drink, and poop. 😁
