Hi All,
So hatching a clutch of Muscovy ducks. The eggs had a rough start. I had my hubby pick them up he ended up fumbling the carton. 4 of the 12 eggs got cracked :( Also not sure if where I got them from knew how to store hatching eggs. They told me they have never hatched them in an incubator.

Any hoo today is day 4. One egg looks very healthy and veiny. However the others are not matching up. They are not showing veins. Some do have a darker spot where something might be happening? I know Muscovys are slower to hatch. So maybe the veiny one is older than the others?

I have to get some babies to hatch. My daughters kindergarten class was suppose to have a traveling farm show up, the event was cancelled. So I volunteered to bring ducklings, chicks, and a hen to class.

You can see a slightly darker spot next to the x

This egg has some good veins growing, either it is older or my other eggs are duds?

Fertile eggs won't start to develop until they are kept at incubation temps.
First egg looks to be a dud, second egg is definitely developing.
I usually don't remove duds until at least day 7-10, just to be sure.
