Fertile?

My son accidentally knocked this egg off of his dresser, and I think it might’ve been fertile. Can anyone check and tell me?

I'm not sure because I don't see a bull's eye. I would say not fertile.

If an egg cools down quickly after being laid, the bullseye is much less obvious. It does look like a white spot in the yoke but at first glance I didn't see it. Here is a link for you so you can decide for yourself.

Why do you want to know if the broken egg was Fertile, if I may ask.

Just checking to see if she’s still laying fertilized eggs or not. Long story short she mated right before we got her.

The hen can keep sperm for up to 3 weeks so it may be!

Oh. Makes perfect sense. Yes, most if not all eggs should be fertile for up to 2 weeks decreasing afterwards. Apparently you can sometimes have a straggler up to 1 month.

Good luck if you decide to incubate! It is very exciting and rewarding.
