Fiber Gold in brooder?

Has anyone used Fiber Gold in the brooder, instead of the usual pine shavings? I always tried to mimic nature in raising my exotics, which I was pretty good at. But I have not seen many people deviate from the pine shavings. Could you use worm castings? Maybe a mix? Just wondering if anyone else has used anything different.

I use pelleted pine horse bedding and a little bit of pine shavings in my brooder, much less odor and the birds seem comfortable.
