I took measurements inside the coop and it is too small. Darn it. Paid quite a bit for this coop and I cannot swap it out. I'll have to brainstorm on how to expand the size somehow while retaining the original structure. Luckily they are only in the coop when it's really windy outside or when they are roosting for the night. I only have two layers right now.
I ended up just putting pinless peepers on my white Easter Egger because she would not stop chasing my Australorp. My white Easter Egger still intimidates my Australorp so I'll probably leave them on for a few weeks and see how it goes.
Pretty interesting experience from these peepers. Seems like they correct the original problem but then a new one begins when you take them off. Now my Java seems to go after my Easter Egger but not to the extreme of how my Easter Egger was treating my Australorp. I am keeping an eye on the Java. She might need pinless peepers as well.
Ah chickens. A bunch of feathered toddlers I say. Why can't everyone just get along?
