Maybe someone can help me I hatched 10 eggs and nine survived. The chicks are 7 weeks old. The momma hen wanted to go back to the large flock and Saturday she stayed with the large flock instead of sleeping with the chickies as she had been. The chicken yards are side by side and I can make it one big yard or keep them separated by a three foot walkway between them. I made one yard a broody yard where the momma could stay with the chickies but could still see her main flock. We only have two full grown hens, one full grown rooster and a 6 month old hen from my first hatch. And then the 9 babies, all hatched together and have stayed together. The momma has been cutting them loose recently with pecking at them, wanting to eat first and just basically cutting the apron strings, when she didnt want to stay with the chickies and went back to the coop where whe roosted with the big birds I just kept the chickies in their broody yard and they have been sleeping together in the broody coop.
the problem is, I came home today and my two little roosters had been fighting....their faces bloody, the smaller "cockrel" as they are only 7 weeks old......had two big gashes in the back of his neck. The big male chick continued to chase and peck him throughout the evening.
I'm struggling with what to do. Should I separate them, let them establish the pecking order and hope it works itself out. Get them established in the main flock with the big birds, hoping the big rooster and the momma hen will keep order? Or bring in the injured bird in the house and get rid of him?
Help

I would remove one of the cockerels, myself, and find him another home or raise him separately. Sometimes they can coexist in the same flock, and somethimes they can't. The situation is not likely to improve.
