I do not know why it has taken me so long to sign up on BYC! I am on this site almost every day lol.
My family and I have a small hobby farm with peafowl, turkey, guinea, pheasant, duck (wild and domesticated), geese, and chicken. This is our first year every with birds. We got a few geese and a couple ducks and it just snowballed into this amazing passion of ours.
We currently have about 20 hens, about 20 free range roosters, about 100 ducks and geese, two pheasants, one turkey, four guineas, and five peafowl. Our new barn is going up for winter shelter for the birds that will be solely dedicated to them. I am so excited to get it all set up for everyone.
Right now, the biggest project, and why I think I finally decided to hop on to BYC, is so I can communicate with other members about aviaries. Right now, the peafowl are in large pens in a barn for the winter and we are currently designing a beautiful aviary for them to start up in the Spring.
I am looking forward to hearing from everyone and learning so much more now that I have an account!
