Finally became a member.

Sorry for the predator issues. I, once upon a time used to think Raccoons were adorable clowns. UNTIL, I saw photos of what devastation they can cause, biting off any parts of a bird they can snag through fencing, and then leaving them alive to suffer.

Welcome to Backyard chickens, so glad you joined the flock

Oh, raccoons are such darlings.. just like ermines and weasels and minks and so many other cute furry little beasts that we do not suspect would
be so cruel. But they ARE devastating, and only doing what is in their nature to do. I just cannot bring myself to hurt them for that so I preferred
to work all day and make it safe for my babies instead.
I was sure at first to have problems with the cats that are abandonned here and also some that people just bring to me, BUT I have never had any
problem with cats. I was surprised. They live here year round and have cubby holes in the garage to keep them warm in the winter and are fed twice
a day. I guess the cats know they have a good thing going here so they behave themselves.

A few of them actually love to play with the ducks and
tease the geese.

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR THE NICE WELCOMES! I really love to show off my babies and I really love being able to get info when I need it from so many great people here
that have tons more experience than I do.
