My husband planned and constructed our run. We have a second coop to attach and a big house coop to build but for the most part it’s done! It’s just basic. Nothing fancy. The chickens love it.

Nice framework and size on the run!
Tho you know chicken wire is not predator proof?
Do you plan on a solid roof for weather(rain/sun/snow) protection?

Oh, and... Welcome to BYC! @GuskHomestead

It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

The set up looks really nice, however, I have to agree with @aart. Unless you are in a predator free environment, the chicken wire will only serve to keep the chickens in. I have both of my chicken coops and attached runs secured with 19 gauge hardware cloth including the floor. The roof is corrugated metal roofing to keep out the weather and aerial predators.

I’d rather not put my location. I’m in the state of Arkansas. And my family has used chicken wire for generations. If something happens we will add another type of wire. Thank you, though. We have a wire roof.

That will keep the chickens in and the hawks out. Shut the coop up at night as chicken wire is not stopping coons, foxes or possums. Your dog should protect the run in the day time. Unless he wants to get in and play.
