FINALLY EGGS!!!! (pic)

Our girls finally laid their first eggs today...well I assume they both did. There were two so I guess it could have been one today and one yesterday and I just didn't see it. Anyway I was excited this is my first duck egg. Are they safe to eat when they first start laying them or should I throw out the first few?

thanks! found one more...so it must just be one of my girls b/c we were gone the past 3 days and I let them out early this morning so she must have laid it in a different spot. We have our neighbor feed them, but not check for eggs since I wasn't expecting any until spring!

thankfully two were in their coop and one was up against the side of the house behind some tall grass...snow had melted there already! I haven't checked the yard...tomorrow i will though
