Finally got my first cochin egg

Finally at 28 weeks my blue bady Doodle layed her first egg. It was pretty good size for a first egg here it is on the right next to my orpington pullet egg.

wooohoooo, bet she did some cackling after that! Probably brought a tear to her eye...was it a standard or bantam cochin? Either way congrats! How old is she...my "baby" bantam Cochin is 5 months old...just curious! Thanks for sharing!

Spook No shes a giant cochin she exactly 28 weeks on tuesday. Shes the only one laying so far I saw her yesterday doing the squat but didnt expect an egg so fast.

wow, that is one good looking first egg! My first cochin egg was long and skinny. I think if I threaded it I could have used it for a needle. LOL
