After a week and a half of calling I was finally able to get my 2 new ducklings. We were really wanting to get Rouens but were affraid of getting Mallards so I am kind of glad that wasn't an option. I called twice yesterday and they weren't in, after calling everyday last week and them not getting them in, and they told me they had 3 left! I will admit I was a little upset since I had called so much. She said they had one black and two yellows but she might be able to get me 2 blacks. I got the kids ready and we headed in to get our new babies. I am not certain what they are, and of course Orscheln doesn't know. I don't know if their people are really not knowledgable on it or if they just don't tell you incase they end up being something else. Anyway if you all could take a look and let me know what you think they are. I am leaning towards Cayuga. They sure are cute. These aren't the best pictures. I will get some better ones after we get them out later today after they have had a nice rest. So what do you all think they are?

I can't believe that our older 3 ducklings were this small just 3 weeks ago. I am glad we are going to have some different ducks in our flock though.

i believe those are khaki kampbell.
someone correct me if im wrong?

could be, in the light are they black or brown? If they are black they are Cayugas....brown/ dark brown, and they're Khakis. I recently got a group of both for a 4-H project, and my profile pic is of a khaki.

These guys are Black. There were 4 of them and none of them were brown at all. They do have yellow on their chest/bellies. Their bills and feet are pure black not brown at all. I guess we will just see what they grow up to be. If anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to let me know. I am happy with either they just didn't really look like the khaki campbells I had been looking at online. DeCanard: none of the 4 were anywhere near as light as your profile picture duckling, who is adorable by the way!

I just got a Khaki campbell today and her bill is pinkish brown and she is much lighter...I also got two black runners that are the same color as these two...so I would guess Cayugas or who knows...maybe you got a couple of wicked cute runners like mine! I would gefinitely say they are not Campbells though...too dark...Congrats though...absolutely adorable!!

Thanks. They sure don't walk like runners. We have one runner now. He isn't what I wanted (I didn't want any runners) but he is the sweetest guy. So much fun. I would be alright with 2 runners but I am holding out hope that they are Cayugas. That is the only thing I hate about getting them from Orschelns is that you don't know what you are gonna get It is just so expensive to order a few ducklings.

In the first picture, the one on the right looks like it has a bib. Any chance it might be Swedish?

Could be, I don't know. Thats what I hate about getting them from Orscheln instead of ordering them but at the time we didn't plan to have as many as we do now

. He sort of has a teeny tiny strip of yellow from his bill to his eyes. It will be interesting to see what they turn out to be I guess.

Then it's definitely a Cayuga. The little white on their chests is natural, and will not be white when they get feathers. If there is a bib, it's a Swedish. Here is an old pic of my cayuga, if it helps!
