Finally got the run done.....PIC heavy

Maybe a pond wil lbe next summers project. Hubby spent two entire weekends getting the netting up for me. Drilling a hole, putting up the telephone pole, stringing the cord from one end to the other, attaching the pulleys & ropes and lining it all up with the netting that I had previously spent two weekends laying out to fit and stitching together (zipties of course). Nevermind the weekend spent installing the welded wire the entire way around (buried). I was originally going to do only half of the area, but as hubby says "go big or go home"

Be proud, it is awesome. Big job, but when you sit back and watch the smile on your flock, it will be all worth it...

Oh, that's a lovely setup! I sure hope your grass stays.....maybe it's possible, since your run is so large!

Your chickens and ducks all look very happy!

Great job!

Very nice! I have a large run also that I was planning to do the same type netting over. Are you not worried that cats/raccoons will destroy that netting too easily and get in?

The barn cats haven't seemed to notice and we don't get too many raccoons around here. This is also only their daytime enclosure......they go in the coop at night. So, I know they are safe at night for sure.

Here's a link to a site that sells it. I was fortunate enough that our local sportmans club gave me their old netting since they just got a new order. (which explains the work in stitching sections together and closing holes) but hey, I won't say no to anything free.....he gets free eggs for life for this.
