Finally have eggs! Now what? Decoys?

My hens have started laying.. yay! I got 2 eggs today!!

Do I need to leave a decoy? I took both eggs and we ate them for breakfast.. was that wrong??

I have a golf ball that stays in the nest. Not all my girls are laying, so I plan on leaving it there until they have all been laying for at least a couple weeks.

We have the golf balls too and I will leave them in till everyone is laying.

You can use plastic eggs (from easter baskets), wooden eggs, ping pong balls, or clay eggs.

You can use any round or oval object close to the size of an egg. Some people use plastic eggs.

lol.. I hope they don't mind bright blue. It was the only plastic egg near a real egg size that I could find..

Will I have to do it for every nest box and for how long?
