(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We have had chickens for 2 1/2 years after we finally moved to the county 3 years ag0.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 15 hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 white Leghorns, 5 Americanas, 1 Black Astralorp (sp), 3 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Barred Rocks
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Our first batch of chickens died 3 days after getting them within minutes of each other like a domino effect! I was on my laptop searching for chicken behavior etc...and found this amazing site!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
It seems that Chicken behavior became my hobby for a time.
I recently started to "brighten up" old furniture; I fixed up an old coffee table, entry table and picture frames. It is something for me. Maybe bring in money someday.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband Adam has been in the Big Rig Auto Body Industry for 23 years, installing wraps, Semi-trucks and trailers, RV's, Earth Movers, Helicopters, Boats etc..
Myself (Jody) Teach high school students with severe cognitive disabilities, non-verbals with Autism, Angelmans, Fragile X, Downs...
Our 3 sons; Nick-23 works full time, Kyle-18 is a Senior in H.S, and Dylon-16 is a Junior in H.S. So proud of all of them; they do still live at home.
I love my family, no rush to break us up by anyone leaving until college or they are ready or they turn 25...LOL.
