Cristian (DS) just came in with this season's first goose egg

I was beginning to wonder if they would lay this year since it seems like everyone else's geese have been laying for weeks!

The only thing I had to compare with was an Uno card, but you can see how big it is

We're having such irregular weather I wish mine would wait. I'm afraid their early half-hearted efforts will peter out and nothing will hatch. I really hope to get my hands on an incubator for at least SOME goslings.

Yayyyy!! What a good feeling to find that first egg.

Oh yes, that first RUSH of 'I found a goose egg!!' followed by 'put it back in the nest!'

I'm terrified of hatching goose eggs in the incubator, I had such bad luck last year! Of course, all the eggs I tried to hatch were shipped, but still I should have gotten more than 1 LIVE gosling out of over 30 eggs! I had only 3 goslings hatch and only 1 lived...so I'm a bit apprehensive
