Theyre smart dont take so long to figure that picking the nipples theyre gonna have water, i start using them with my little chicks andnthey learn fast, even my older kuckoo marans that wer like 3 months old learned to use them fast, what i do is, move the nipple with the finger and they see that water is coming out of them but they try to grab it from the floor since they see the drops falling but have to keep doing it until one pf them pick the nipple and Whoala!, only one chicken or chick is needed to do it the rest will follow
