She laid it on the floor in the corner of the coop, so I will have to move one of the nesting boxes over there.

Congratulations on your first egg. It's an awesome experience!!!! Be sure to keep a couple of fake eggs in the nesting box(es) so they all know where to go to lay their eggs. They really get the hang of it quickly. I had a couple of surprise eggs that were laid in the compound and was afraid I had a chicken with a bad habit. But once they all started laying.....the eggs have all been in the nesting boxes. And now, they all (4) lay eggs in the same box. The other day I caught 2 hens in one box at the same time.

and it was a bit crowded for them. Didn't seem to bother either one though.

Yay for you! How long did you wait for it? I've got 3 pullets I'm waiting on. 20 weeks today and no signs of being ready. Sigh.
